YOU KNOW HOW I STARTED THIS EPISODE TALKING ABOUT HOW IN THE CHARIOT VIDEO WE STARTED RECORDING TOO LOUD AND THEN I LOWERED IT.

WELL I DID IT ON THIS EPISODE TOO, SO ENJOY THE FIRST ~10 MINUTES.

Also I feel weird cropping audio of a dub of a parody webcomic but here’s the video and I guess here’s the original artist because, according to Wealthyaardvark, “people became very internety about it” and she took it down, so thanks a lot internet??

This Week’s Major Skews:

It seems to me that it’s a case of Dave basically being a different person than when you first encountered Chappelle. I would guess you were not even out of college when Chappelle’s Show started. I didn’t watch the Netflix special, so I couldn’t comment on his jokes either way. Trans/homophobia in the black community is as alive as it has ever been. We would like everyone to live progressively, but I am part of “black” social media. I see a lot of unapologetic racism and phobia going on. Less ignorance than 5 or so years ago, but If you’re non-black or trans, I wouldn’t say you should expect open arms from the conservative black community. People tend to expect that because black people are minorities that they are enlightened to all the struggles of all minorities. NOPE! Just like that Chappelle joke you quoted about black struggle vs the struggle of a white woman, that’s how some black people are. They’re insular, just like any other community. You can be smart and clever and witty, but that doesn’t change your politics.

As for Colin Quinn, I don’t know where Graz encountered Colin Quinn’s comments that turned her off, but if it was on Twitter, Colin Quinn’s twitter account is a troll account, meaning that he’s playing this character. OR maybe Graz wasn’t talking about Colin Quinn at all! You’d be surprised how many Colins are in comedy.
