We don’t have a lot of fanfare for our 8th (9th?) anniversary and we’ll get around to talking about MY NAME IS BLADE I GOT A BLADE¬†when we’re good and ready! Before that we have to digress about Salt-Baked Seafood, Grand Theft Auto V, Saints Row 4, The Wonderful 101, and Valdis Story.

(special bonus round: guess what I recorded this podcast on, it wasn’t my real mic!)

(i think the problem of this was actually Skype modifying my audio settings on the fly more than the crap mic, you know what don’t even bother listening)

Yeah but that’s like… tradition, every once in a while

  • I don’t feel like GTA always has a focus on the American dream gone wrong. I think that you can take that theme from the games, but GTA IV is the one that says it out loud.

Oh, and about GTA games basically being the same thing over and over again, isn’t that what we can say about Saints Row as well? It’s “we’re doing gangster shit, but we’re Not GTA, and we get sillier and Not GTA-er with each game”

I guess because Saints Row went the Crackdown route, that’s different, or whatever.

I don’t know if GTA V is my favorite, because I like the other games for various reasons, but the attention to detail just amazes me, and I really enjoy the characters. Trevor, the guy Dave mentioned in the podcast, is funny, but also a very disturbing lunatic. It’s becoming an increasingly bizarre mix of seriousness and comedy as the series goes along.
