• Mad kudos for the Predator reference.

God, I love that movie. It’s infinitely quotable. I think my personal favorite is Jesse Ventura’s rousing speech on the manly benefits of tobacco-chewing.

Well, technically, it’s called “Otaku no video”–you know, “an otaku’s video.” What I mean is, they kind of give warning on the label that if you’re not an otaku yourself, it’s not necessarily going to be of any interest.

How Bizarre, NZ’s biggest export next to dairy and lamb. I can feel myself flashing back to those crazy hazy days of 1996 already…

  • Carl: Yeah, I get what you’re saying… but let’s face it. Me and Joel are pretty huge dorks. We’re not “live in our mom’s basement and extoll the virtues of cartoon girls over real girls” dorks, but suffice it to say we’re pretty steeped in nerd culture and we left Otaku no Video feeling utterly bewildered, not understanding why anyone finds any sort of redeeming features in this show. If I can’t get it, how much of a dork do you have to be?

But then, as I said on the show, I don’t really care for pretty much everything Gainax puts out anyway.

Ken: I always though OMC was Mexican… now I don’t think I like that song anymore.

Why, the kind who “live in our mom’s basement and extoll the virtues of cartoon girls over real girls,” of course.

    Like this!

  • Yeah, but anything that debases Surat via pictography is HUMORIFFIC.

Unprovoked anti-New Zealand sentiments, huh?. Repent or I will have to inform the Prime Minister. She will be angry, and you wouldn’t like her when she’s angry.

  • How Bizarre was definitely a song that went through a period of heavy rotation on Y100 during my middle school years in the Delaware Valley. Thanks for reminding me of the most awkward years of my life.
